What This Covers

This policy describes how StockTop.ai (“StockTop”, “we”, “us”) operated by Servers Connect LLC collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services (the “Service”).

Information We Collect

• Account information (e.g., email address, authentication tokens)
• Service data (e.g., watchlists, alert preferences, usage)
• Technical data (e.g., device/browser info, IP address, logs)
• Payment/subscription metadata (if you subscribe; we do not store full card details)

Cookies and Analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how the Service is used and to improve performance and features. PostHog may use cookies and similar technologies (such as localStorage) to recognize your browser and record usage events (e.g., page views and feature usage). If you are signed in, we may associate events with your account identifier.

Cookie Retention: Analytics cookies are retained for up to 365 days. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Authentication cookies (via Clerk) persist for up to 7 days to keep you signed in.

Cookie Consent: We display a cookie consent banner on your first visit. Analytics tracking only begins after you accept cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and visiting the site again, or by contacting us.

You can limit cookies through your browser settings. Some functionality may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) signal. We respect this signal and will disable analytics tracking for users who have DNT enabled in their browser. When DNT is detected, PostHog analytics will not be initialized for your session.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar state privacy laws, you have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information.

StockTop does not sell personal information. We do not exchange your data for monetary or other valuable consideration with third parties for their own commercial purposes. We also do not “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How We Use Information

• Provide and operate the Service

Third-Party Processors

We use third-party providers to operate the Service. Depending on configuration, this may include:

• Authentication (e.g., Clerk)
• Payments/subscriptions (e.g., Stripe)
• Analytics (e.g., PostHog)
• Infrastructure/hosting (e.g., Vercel, database providers)
• Email delivery (e.g., Resend)
• AI model providers (for generating insights)

These providers may process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and the nature of our processing, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, and to opt out of certain uses (such as targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions with legal or similarly significant effects).

• Data Portability (GDPR Article 20): You can export all your data in machine-readable JSON format from your Settings page. This includes your profile, watchlists, alert history, and AI usage logs.
• Restriction of Processing (GDPR Article 18): You can request that we restrict processing of your data while retaining it (e.g., while you contest accuracy or we evaluate a deletion request). Contact support@stocktop.ai to exercise this right.
• Right to Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data. See the “Data Retention” section below for our deletion timeline.

To submit a request, contact support@stocktop.ai. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If you believe we denied your request in error, you can appeal by replying to our response or emailing the same address with “Appeal” in the subject line.

StockTop does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for targeted advertising at this time.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security, compliance), unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Deletion Timeline: When you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal compliance (e.g., financial records for tax purposes may be retained for up to 7 years). Backups containing your data are purged within 90 days.

Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement purposes.

Security and Breach Notification

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

If we become aware of a security incident that triggers notice obligations, we will notify affected individuals and/or authorities as required by applicable law.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and may provide additional notice (such as by email or in-app) for material changes.
